How the check works
Our server connects to each proxy and opens our service page through it. That page sees which IP the request came from and which headers the proxy added on the way. From this we show the exit IP, country, ISP, latency and anonymity level.
You do not have to specify the protocol: the checker detects HTTP or SOCKS5 by itself. Supported formats are host:port, host:port:user:password and user:password@host:port.
What the anonymity level means
- Elite. Websites see no signs of a proxy. This is what you need for account work.
- Anonymous. Your IP is hidden, but headers like Via or X-Forwarded-For show that the request came through a proxy.
- Transparent. The proxy passes the IP of whoever connected to it. Not suitable for anonymous work.
The level is checked over plain HTTP. Over HTTPS a proxy cannot add headers, so HTTPS websites only see the proxy exit IP anyway.
